What's the issue here, provided the TLF is taking only those who wish to leave?
Slavery is illegal in Minmatar territory, exactly as it is in State and Federation territory. The Empire signed the CEWPA legislation into law, so the transition of authority has their legal blessing. Any slaves who leave the borders of the Empire are legally freed and can, therefore, make their own decision to relocate. If the TLF are kindly footing the bill of this relocation, then it's certainly not a matter for censure, is it?
You can guarantee that the TLF isn't removing any Matari who wish to stay, right Ms Rhiannon? And it's not carrying out any war crimes or atrocities on the remaining population? |

That would be a matter of Imperial Law, I believe Mr Blake. It's certain that they could enslave those who commit the sort of crimes for which people are habitually enslaved in the Empire. Legally and with the blessing of the Matari government, who signed the selfsame legislation that makes the emancipation of slaves in the sectors they occupy legal.
I don't think it's legal to just enslave people willy-nilly though, is it?
The Law may overturn Reason, but Reason may never overturn the Law. |

I'm frankly quite outraged that the 'liberators' in this situation would be so cruel so as to become part of the slave trade by refusing to participate in its dissolution on anything but the most racist level possible. Do they forget so easily that many of them would still be enslaved if not for assistance from those from outside of any of their 'tribes'? This is the real tragedy here. I can only request of the gods that other TLF members will not follow in the footsteps of this slaver-enabler.
Remember - Liberating people who don't want to be liberated is called 'Kidnapping'.

No means no! That was not the topic, Pieter and you know it. The article puts forward that these people are being left there because they're not of the prescribed race, as opposed to any matter of consent. It is a concerning development, and I'd note that the Federation continues to offer support to all refugees and immigrant in equal measure, regardless of such concerns.
I'm sorry, but you should pick apart the statement I quoted before claiming I'm out of context.

I viewed much the same thing happening just as the tide turned in our own war effort. It's my experience that, no, they don't feel any regrets. The decision was made for business or for reasons of pride. |

That's a pendulum that's swung once in my memory. Granted the warzone between the Amarr/Matari is more stable than our own, but it's still not the case that ANY of the militias 'gets the job done'. |
